[ ハレトケ  HARE TO KE ] IS A SPATIAL INSTALLATION THAT METAPHORICALLY TRANSLATES THE CONCEPT OF A FESTIVAL, EXPLORING THE DIMINISHING VALUE OF RITUALS IN MODERN SOCIETY. DRAWING ON THE JAPANESE DISTINCTION BETWEEN HARE (SPECIAL OCCASIONS) AND KE (EVERYDAY LIFE), THE INSTALLATION REFLECTS ON THE HUMAN NEED TO CREATE SPECIAL MOMENTS, EVEN AS TRADITIONAL REASONS FOR CELEBRATION FADE. THE PROJECT OFFERS A FLEXIBLE, MODULAR SPACE, SYMBOLIZING THE FREEDOM TO CONSTRUCT ONE’S OWN RITUAL, CELEBRATING WHAT, WHEN, AND WITH WHOM ONE DESIRES. THE STRUCTURE, SIMPLE AND ACCESSIBLE, BLURS THE BOUNDARIES BETWEEN THE EXTRAORDINARY AND THE EVERYDAY, INVITING REFLECTION ON WHAT IT TRULY MEANS TO ENJOY.
